Our Story

 

As W-2 professionals once ourselves, we know how much work investing and managing a real estate property on our own could be. Mold issues? Unruly tenants? Pest problems? We’ve experienced it all. Yes, we own the real estate, but we also own the problems.

Through our first hand experiences, we’ve realized that for busy professionals like ourselves, an efficient way to invest in real estate is through real estate syndications.

With our background and knowledge in real estate investing, coupled with over 35 years of corporate risk management experience, we bring the best of both worlds to help busy professionals invest in syndications with a greater peace of mind.

Our Mission

 

Our mission is to simplify real estate investing for busy professionals who want to reap the benefits of real estate investing, but do not have the time nor desire to handle all the responsibilities that come with it.

We offer private real estate group investments, fully vetted by an experienced team with prudent underwriting and a sound business plan so that one can invest with greater confidence . With Sage Investing Group, a busy professional can scale up their rental unit ownership without having to manage the day-to-day problems.

We believe that if busy professionals had an easier way to scale up their real estate investing game, they’d be able to sleep better knowing their money continues to work for them even when they are off the clock.

Managing Partner

Maggie has been investing in real estate since 2011. During that time, she has focused mostly on buy-and-hold rentals, private lending, and both passive and active investing through real estate syndications. Maggie is passionate in following and implementing a financial philosophy that grows wealth at a steady pace and over time, allowing her to be at ease and share more moments with her family and own her time.

Prior to transitioning to full time real estate, Maggie has worked in large financial firms including Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley and where she specialized in risk management for the Firms’ Investment Banking and Investment Management businesses which includes reviewing, assessing, and improving the Firm’s underwriting and due diligence process. Maggie holds a bachelor’s in Accounting with a minor in Management Information & Systems from University of Delaware, and a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) certifications.

Managing Partner

Lana’s experience ranges from managing and streamlining operations of her family-owned commercial businesses, development of her family’s multifamily property, to passively and actively investing in real estate syndication. Lana is passionate about focusing on analyzing data to qualify the right investment.

Prior to transitioning to real estate full time, Lana has audit, compliance, and risk management experience with large financial institutional clients with focus on the investing and lending portfolio, including real estate. Experiences include review and assessment of underwriting and due diligence process of real estate transactions. Lana holds a bachelor’s in Accounting from Rutgers and Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification.

Managing Partner

Jin has experience investing in a variety of real estate since 2014. Today, she has a portfolio totaling over 1,300 units. Jin has a comprehensive understanding of the cost and benefits of self-managing buy-and-hold rentals, to passive and active investing through real estate syndications. Jin is passionate about sharing her knowledge and network to help others generate passive income and grow their wealth through real estate investing.

Jin started her professional career at a Big Four accounting firm and since then, she has served in various senior financial and accounting roles at several non-profit organizations based in Washington, DC. Her collective experience in risk management, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis, alongside her extensive experience in real estate investing has proven invaluable as she uses good judgement, data, and facts to qualify the best investment opportunities. Jin graduated from the University of Southern California with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and International Business, and she is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

Strategic Advisor

Wagner began investing in real estate in 2005 while he was a student at the University at Albany. Over the past 15 years he has invested in land, single family rentals, and multifamily properties. Currently, he has invested in over 1,900 units throughout the Southeast United States as well as other alternative asset classes such as ATMs.

Wagner has over 13 years of experience providing risk management, controls enhancement and process optimization for multiple Fortune 500 companies within the financial, consumer products, pharmaceutical, insurance, and technology sectors. He holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Information Technology.

Strategic Advisor

Jack is a long time real estate investor and top-producing professional realtor licensed in MD, DC, and VA. He started investing in real estate in 2007 while running a wholesale business in Baltimore. He now holds over 1,300 units in real estate across the country. Jack has been featured in the Washingtonian and Bethesda Magazines, and is a 5-star rated agent on Redfin, Zillow, Trulia, and Realtor.com. He has earned two realtors’ designations, Accredited Buyers Representative (ABR) and Seller Representative Specialist (SRS).

Jack graduated from the University of Maryland with a degree in Business Management. His experience in acquiring and managing both residential and commercial real estate provides a keen eye for identifying value and opportunities.
